Your dental visit during the COVID 19 pandemicWe take sterilisation and cross infection protocol very seriously. We are committed to the safety of our patients and staff. It is best to call ahead to schedule an appointment, you will be asked some questions to allow us to help you and to keep everyone safe. Obviously if you are feeling unwell, reschedule your appointment. Like all dentists across Australia we are moving from level 3 to level 2 ADA guidelines starting the last week of April. This does limit what procedures we can provide for you but it is for the safety of everyone. You may be asked to wait outside and enjoy the view of the ocean and fresh air, until the waiting room is empty. We are following all social distancing guidelines in addition to strict sterilisation and cross infection protocols. We have added a few of our own, like a 2 minute rinse with hydrogen peroxide before we conduct an oral examination. This can reduce the amount of virus in the mouth reducing the viral load in any potential aerosol produced. In addition to our comprehensive sterilisation of the room and equipment before your visit, we spray the room with a strong alcohol spray to combat any air borne virus particles, and we are using proven products that kill this novel corona virus. It is interesting to note that there has been no recognised infection of this corona virus in a dental setting, some people believe that is because dental practices have strict sterilisation and cross infection procedures already established. We are committed to your safety and safety of our staff. We thank you for your understanding during these difficult times. We look forward to seeing you soon.
